I thought old = cheaper insurance!

I just put insurance on the 954. I thought old bastards like me would get cheaper insurance. Maybe I was just spoiled with the SV insurance. It has been 4 years since I insured a liter sport bike.

$1400/yr with everything but collision.

Any liter bike is going to have high premiums! My agent told me that the two main factors are theft and frequency of accidents due to a higher number of them being on the streets. The rider's age or riding experience has a small impact on the premiums! , no collision! Call renae at Houston Cycle Insurance for a better quote!

Thank all the squids for our rates down here, go to minnesota or something. They pay $300 yr for full coverage on a litre bike.

what the is wrong with your credit or driving record to receive a quote that high (I'd understand if it was for full coverage)? I just put Liability + Theft + Uninsured/Underinsured on the Harley for less than $200/yr through Progressive.

The bike makes some difference, but it's most llikely the driver in this case. I just quoted an '02 CBR954RR to replaced the '08 ape with Progressive, and it was $139 cheaper per yr. I would have thought a 10yr old bike should be much less, but apparently there is something to the CBRs. Still, nowhere near $1400/yr without collision.

Yes, insurance is one reason I got the SV.

Something's not right. I pay less than a fourth of that for the ZX10R. I understand that I get a multi bike discount and an Instructor discount, but it can't be that big of a difference.
