Unfortunately these rides aren't organized well, and it's not unusual for riders to split off and head home or to a friends or where ever.
It's also not unusual for people to try and keep up and ride over their heads.

Very said and a lot of people feel like right now because they had no idea what happened until the news popped up this AM.
I had a feeling he was part of a Wednesday night ride

Let this serve as a warning for future rides and riders

I did one Wednesday night ride when I was a noob. Just one. I was all of five minutes into it before I said " this " and turned off. It's just not worth it.

I just heard about this on the radio. So sad.

I'm always afraid of this happening when I'm on the back country roads where I live. I could go down and not be found for hours because no one drives theses roads. I always think about me hitting this line of fence for some weird reason.

I did one with 10 years experience and said the EXACT same thing, in about the same amount of time. Never went back.

RIP to the rider.

BTW... this is quite possibly the exact type of situation that "cradar" app was created. It's for those of you who DO ride alone, or in a group that isn't watching your back. Heck, if he had a friend in the pack, they might have gotten a message about it at the next gas station.

I TRIED to let someone know anytime I'm getting on the bike and where I was going... but with commuting that quickly went away. And really doesn't give them your location (unless you happen to use google latitute).

This is really sad. You'd have to be going crazy fast to go over a wall that high. That's too bad for the family.

I passed by the area today, I can see how no one would have seen the bike behind the barrier.
