Starbucks "bike night"

so i live at 59/shepherd and ive been hearing burners going by every wednesday. so today i journeyed on over around 10pm and checked it out....

squidbillies. never seen so many fat girls 2up and riding their own 1+ liter bikes. . no offense to chubs, but its just kind of funny bc the busa and the 14s just even LOOK like fat people bikes.

the point to this....

these sat around drinking frappychinas until 10:30 and then made the biggest ruck/din/hoopla about pulling out. they all met at the shell like 200 feet away and got fueled up for the big "ride". well after about 100 or so had amassed the guys on choppers pulled out and started interfering with traffic and acted like stewards ushering a crowd into the intersection practically...

light goes green and everyone seems to rev to 12k and take off and proceed to head around 610 "inner" at about 70mph.... nothing wrong with this, just makes us look like just as bad as the squid without gear slamming through traffic. it was all show and no go. i'm not here saying everyone has to go blasting around 610.... i dont really like it. if i'm going to play its way south of town or on the beltway. but all this production for a paced lap where massive packs of bikes envelop and very slowly pass traffic on 610???

its dangerous in its own way. i'd rather see 10 experienced riders doing double the posted than multiple packs of 20-40 bikes bullying traffic at an incredibly slow pace. there was nothing consistent or fluid to it. consistency and fluidity are the most enjoyable parts of riding.

sorry im sure yall have all witnessed this but I was thoroughly let down...

they are all as cool as their chrome wheels and 3 foot long rear arms....

Yeah, sorry. Call it a snapped off rant. Grammar, punctuation and capitalization all forgotten since college. Excuse my choppy style.

But seriously, what is that meet up about? It was a big contest if you ask me...

i agree with you on that, dont really see the point to stretched bikes full of leds revving their engine like people are supposed to applaud to them for the noise.

i do show up occasionally just to hang out and chill with friends, not there to look at women and not really into making the 610 run at night, nothing wrong with it, just a matter of preference, i have much more fun riding the back roads during daylight

Question: What were you expecting to see?

Nope. I'm a proud 7th generation Texan but I was on 300 acres outside of Stillwater until 2011. Luckily we were about 30 min drive from Hallett. Motorcycle lap days once to twice a month for 25 bucks! Hillbilly deluxe that could drag some knees on the SV

U aint cool unless u know how to bling, right? lol I work down the street from u and I occasionally hear a pack of that kind of people u r talking about approaching, I got tired of trying to figure out why people do dumb t, just like why would anyone lower a 600 and add a stretched swing arm to ride the streets of Houston, I've never been to Wednesday "bike night" but now I'm just curious as to the kind of people that show

I think we should show up in our track suits, bring tire warmers and a generator to the parking lot. Stage a put crew up for the big "ride"

Uh....ok.

It's PP1, just enjoy the show. From your description, seems like you joined along on the ride.

I could be wrong....
