it has been done, but if you plan on riding long distances or cruising you need a 4t.
2 stroke dirtbikes are designed to be reved.

It's been done many times. It would be a very fun bike but those engines just aren't made for communting type of riding. Thsoe engines are designed for starting line to finish line racing. You'll burn through top ends like toilet paper.

Plus you don't have the luxury of being able to fill up at a gas station like with a 4 stroke, you'll always have to premix.

Look up the Kawasaki GT750 and its generation of 2 stroke motorcycle counter-parts, they have separate tanks that auto premix. a custom operation could be done, they also make the GT series in a 350 or 400, smaller engines that could possibly be retro-fitted into a diff frame and made to work like what you're talking about.

I fill up at gas stations I have a bottle marked at my premix ratio for every gallon and half gallon. Fill it up, add the necessary amount of oil, and shake that sucker back and forth. I usually leave some room at the top to allow the gas to slosh back and forth, but then again with that ugly 3.1 gal tank I can afford to leave the space. Hard to do with the oem 2 gal tank.

Seen it done very sussesfully. There was a guy from Dallas I believe back in the late 90's/early 2000's if I remember right. He'd line up on the outside and at the flag drop would wheelie by the entire grid.....
