Did the second unit work as it should?

Cycle Gear will work with you up to 30 days, I seldom need to return or exchange things but they are very reasonable. I will see tomorrow if a second unit fixes this. thanks!

PS: once I get this working, I am going to rig some nice, sound deadening safety ear muffs into the helmet and run the speakers inside, so I can hear without excessive volume, which can be very bad on the ears.

I've been looking into these also, but I'm more leaning towards the HBC200, mainly because I want it for the intercom and some other features it has. Plus there's other gadgets to go with it, such as ear buds with built in microphone. The negative is it's pricey.

Also, Sena is coming out with a new one specially for sport bikes, SMH10R. It's going to be thinner smaller and lighter and has intercom capabilities of just over 1/2 mile. It also looks like it will be easier to use and hopefully less expensive.

i wish they'd come off the price on these, they appear to work VERY well.

funny how cutting edge safety gear is also the most expensive. I guess people in the safety business are too worried about profits than increasing safety for all!

Bro...I'm tired of being the adult here...why dont you act like your age and not your riding age. If you feel its unsafe, cool...don't talk down, instead just stress your thoughts and concerns. Calling it stupid and dumb makes me feel like you talking directly to me. I'm not the one who talks with my mouth. So if you ever see that bike on the the road holler at me face to face B?%(h a$$ .

So, the second unit you bought works ok?

We should meet at Dots tomorrow night and try out the intercom system.

Dude I was being cool at first, but I'm done now. I was just informing fellow riders (who care to know) about the product, and because he felt the need to insult instead of consult, his head is now on my platter lol.

Yes sir...I just took my helmet up there and tested another unit and left speakers in. Worked fine. I knew it was the unit because when I connected my wife's unit I had no issues with my phone or speakers. No sure where Dots is. Let me know.

Cool, that's very reassuring, can't wait to get this thing going right.

New unit; started cutting out like the original. I stopped and moved the phone from my pants pocket to my jacket breast pocket, seems to have cleared it up completely. Now to start working on some noise muffling ear pads....

Missed previous message about location. I usually ride south on wknd. I'm a early bird...so in early doing wk. When I was testing mine I was actually just sitting in my house and holding phone. The fact that you had to put in your chest pocket to clear it sort of bothers me...but if that fixes it cool. Now that I think about it mine was in my jacket pocket when tested during a short ride....its not like your phone will be more than a couple ft away at any given time away right lol.

Update: yes, the second unit worked fine with the phone in my jacket chest pocket. After about 200 miles of testing, I decided to return the unit and exchange it for a Pilot Road 3 tire. The main reason, there's no way to block wind and road noise, so while sitting in the driveway, if I turn on the music and a smart, reasonable volume that won't damage my ears, once I hit 45 mph I cannot hear anything but a muffled noise and maybe the drum hi-hats. I won't crank it up to compete with the loud road noise, , I want to avoid tinnitus as long as I can, I really wish someone would create some comfortable, adjustable sound deadening earmuffs with speakers in them.

For now, will have to stick with my Skull Candy and forgo getting calls on the bike.
