2nd thought... is wifey on the same bike, or on her own?

I was wondering if they work for distance of 3 or so car lengths. You know... when you aren't quite sure where you're going, or need to pull over, or something of that nature... hand signals, gesturing, and watching mime games is dangerous.

And yes... I know how far 10meters is... kinda curious about the real world working. THey may garauntee 10meters, but work up to 30. Or the 10 may be the limit.
Unfortunately wife doesn't have a bike. Got it for her for when we ride 2up, but if you ride in groups of 3 or more I would recommend the 200.

I have an SMH-10 headset fitted to my X-11. I bought it to listed to music and NOT to MAKE/TAKE calls. I could never find a comfortable pair of headphones so it works for me. Your Mileage May Vary !!

congratulations, want a cookie?

wife and i have decided it was safe, then again, i don't answer phones or listen to music (other then my V-twin) while riding. i just concentrate on riding and traffic. i know its hard for some. but then again, most don't make a career out of riding, just another fad.

Get over yourself you cant control what others do. you want to cry about what others do go blog about we dont care what you think you could die crossing the street. you talk about how dangerous everything is yet you ride your kids at the worst time of day when the most Inexperienced drivers are on the road.

And you can control a drunk driver during the middle of the day smashing into the back of you. You can get drunk anytime of the day

Rider-passenger comms is great. Bike to bike comms would be cool, too. BT as a handsfree phone device I dunno. Sometimes I get to thinking it would be good to know - while I'm on a long ride - if there is an important call coming in. Couple of times da wife did express here displeasure for not being able to reach me while I'm out riding.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable answering a call on a bike. Heck, I don't even like reaching over to the instrument panel to click thru the trip computer! I can tell myself I'll get off the road to call back, but... the temptation is gonna be there to push the button and keep riding.

Be safe out there.

I've been riding since Nixon was President. In his first term. And I'm still here, clocking 15,000 miles a year.

Yes, talking while riding does add some complexity but seriously, it does not equate to instant death! You just have to multi task a little, that's all. If the traffic is hairy, I'll tell them I'll call them back. It's the conversation that suffers, not the concentration on traffic.

Back to the topic (sigh). Well, my unit is cutting out during music playback, a lot. Not sure why, but I did synch a different phone to it and rode a bit--same thing, the music cuts out. Surprisingly, the phone calls don't seem to cut out... I will take it back to Cycle Gear and get it exchanged for a different unit, and see if it fares any better.

Actually one of mine did that and I was able to exchange it at cycle gear. Depending on how long you had it and if you have receipt, I don't think you will have an issue.

So, who said instant death? Are you refuting the fact tht talking while riding/driving impaires your ability? So next time somebody says a car came over on them cuz they were on the phone, they were wrong cuz phones don't impare your "abilities".

None of my post were directly at you but, the impaired p art does apply to you, my guess is if Bluetooth was around during nixons time, you either wouldn't be here or you be in a lot more close calls.

Your an old fart , like me , a phone is a distraction, kids IT'S THEIR LIFE

And trying to compare your rider radar w his, is like comparing your life experiences to his, there is no comparison. He's got 4-8 mos riding vs your decades.

he may not even have 4-8mos
