I like it a lot. 'Bout time they get rid of the warmer and thigh rotisserie. That was my single biggest complaint with the '09 Sprint ST 1050. The new muffler may not be much of a looker, but it's styled better than a lot of other EPA-mandated catalytic-converter-equipped OEM mufflers. Some of the others (CB1000R comes to mind) look like they got squeezed out of a constipated elephant.

Now... where is my STeeP Triple 800?! Frankly, having ridden the heavier Sprint, I don't need the 1050cc on the lighter naked chassis. But I wouldn't mind a little more juice than the 675. The 800cc from the Tiger would be just purr-fect.

From what I know, these are new....
New chassis - lighter and lower COG
Switchable ABS
Lighter wheels

It looks great. The new exhaust doesn't bother me... I'd be changing it no matter what. The seat warmers would've been shed for the arrow side exhaust.

Maybe people will sell their older street triples, and i can pick one up.

Yeah the chassis, they also did some engine tweaking as well...etc. Lighter faster bike over all. Kind of the same stuff they did for the Speed Triple 2011+

Good on Triumph finally adding ABS to the STR. The bug eyes are questionable to me, and the local Houston Triumph dealers get the same label.

How much dinero I wonder?

I think it's a great looking bike myself. For a factory exhaust that looks pretty good. I'd be more worried about new mirrors as a solo seat cover to hide the banana. I DON'T like the gold front calipers though...they look a bit out of place.

Remember, the rear seat will have a COWL to cover it as well.

Dunno why Triumph bother with the R and non-R. For $700 more on a $10k new bike (including fees and taxes), the differences are trivial. Other than the radial brakes, it's mostly cosmetic. Now if it were like the Daytona, where the R's $1700 premium buys you Ohlins TTX36 and NIX30 and Brembo Monoblocks, that's an upgrade worth getting excited about.

...and depending on where I read it, a different rake to the forks. Not sure whether that's a typo, or maybe confusion of comparing 2012 to 2013 and R to Non-R.
