Well I see plenty of big bikes on the list, so you may be a noob to the track, but not to riding. So you should do fine on the track, if you can ride the street, then you can ride on a track in a controlled environment.
Not always true my friend. Street ego will land you in some bad places on the track. It is best to show up with an open mind and allow yourself to be humbled by some of the track guys doing what they love to do.

I agree Moody, I did not mean to sound like if you can ride a 1k on the street you will be fast on the track, but rather take some confidence with you, but dont be over confident and like you say, be open minded, that is the only way to learn. I know I learned alot my first time out. It just seemed some were being to worried about who is faster than the other.

I've done one trackday and one gets intiminated by people flying past them. I think that was the whole point of having a noob day with people slower than 2:20.

Yeah, people are worrying to much. The biggest thing to remember is that it is the person making the pass that should be responsible for making sure it is a safe clean pass. So if you stay relaxed that will get you through any level of riding out there. You could be doing 3 minute laps with AMA pros out there and as long as you hold your lines and don't get spooked they will pass you with no problems. This becomes very important as you start picking up the pace and riding with the faster guys.

Just stay relaxed. People passing you can be a good thing. You get to see how they enter the next corner. (or don't )

I am pretty sure I am more relaxed this time. It was a bit of a shocker the first trackday. Compliments of being a noob.

About the corner entry, my problem was exactly that. I was trying to follow the line of the fast guys and it took me a while before I realized that. My instructor Ronnie did do a great job at showing me 'my' line for 'my' speed. I was told that when you use a wider line than necessary, you take way more asphalt than needed and once you speed up, the only thing to move to is the grass. :eh:

Ronnie's a great guy.
He helped me with my second trackday.
He almost had a heart attack when he followed me around.
I ran off at T3 in pretty good speed, hit the edge of the track hard enough to bent my front rim, than came back to the track and rode the rest.
He remembers me as a "trouble".

Really.
I'm all good now.
Totally mellowed out.

This is from my second trackday with Ronnie.
54661610 M

You can see my front and rear rims are different colors.
I bent my front bad enough, so Ronnie lets me borrow his extra rim for his (next day) endurance race.
I was riding like a good girl all day not to bent another one.
