Blown fork seal

Whatsup guys, I was cleaning my bike the other day and notice a leaky fork seal, it wasn't dripping on the ground or anything just a little more damp than the other side, it needs them replaced and I have no clue on where the best place to go is. I called Texas Yamaha south and they tell me that its three days wait and 350 bucks, witch is no problem, but I want them done right... I also asked the mechanic there, since they're taking the forks apart anyways can they tune it to my weight, he tells me no they didn't know how to do that, so they will just put it back how it was. Is there anyplace around the Pearland area that can do both? And do them right? I just don't want to have to pay for them twice.. Any help would be appreciated..

For $350 they better be doing more than just replacing a fork seal! That should be an entire fork service.

Bring it by, we're a lot less expensive than that.
I see you're in Pearland, I can set it up to where you can ride it up on a Saturday and wait on it if you don't mind hanging out a few hours.
Give me a call if you'd like to set something up.

I wouldn't mind waiting a couple of hours on it if you could do that, riding it on a bad seal won't hurt it? Sorry just wanna make sure

ebr did a good job on my dirtbike, so i called them about my busa suspension and they said they're not setup to handle street bikes; i'd have to take everything apart myself and bring them the components.

Daniel, Patrick @ Motorcycles Unlimited sounds like a good bet for you. Like he said, you could ride the bike there early Saturday morning and be at or near the front of the line for service. Just wait a few hours and you will be back on the road.

Either that or you'd most likely have to drop your bike off somewhere and then RETURN at a later date to pick it up. The time and effort might not be worth it.

On a side note...
Patrick, do you use OEM seals, or would the customer have to request that ahead of time?

Shouldn't take 3 days. Sounds a bit high. My Ohlins forks were redone for a lot less than that by a shop up in Tomball. HOP or Motorcycles Unlimited should be able to get you taken care of.

No worries, it's been doing that quite a bit lately. Get back on the road, maybe you can join me this Sunday for a nice backroads ride 730-noon
