i got the same ticket a few months back the cop even told me i had to have it where it came from the factory.

the dumb cop wrote on the ticket: No license plate, mounted wrong.

when the wrote it in the system it said no license plate. i took proof of my registration (even though i got a ticket for the plate) and showed the judge i had a plate and current registration. the judge i had was cool and all i paid was $10 fee.

THAT'S WHAT HE TOLD ME!! Where did these guys get this myth from?

My official offense is:
Expired or missing registration or improperly displayed insignia.

I'm gonna take my registration and inspection receipts to the arraignment and try to get a dismissal. Otherwise I'm taking it to court and I'm gonna try to get him to repeat that 'it must be mounted where the mfg put it"

I don't mind getting pulled over for legit - this is just plain stupid though.

Mine is just about where yours is, and no LEO has ever given me for it.

I got pulled over yesterday on the way back from the TMGP meet and the cop told me you have to be able to see the plate from 500 feet away. Even if its mounted properly you could not see it from that distance. He was cool though, told me to fix it and sent me on my way.

There's no law or city ordinance that states this.

Probably why you didn't get a ticket

Yeah I want some proof in black in white what it states so I know, just in case. As soon as he seen my licence and insurance he was ok bye, lol.

That's all he really wanted to see.

Best not to argue with him. I just answered the guy's questions about my plate location (it was there when I bought the bike) and I had to prove to him that it had a light.

He just just itchin' to write me a ticket - I could feel it. Like when I messed up signing the little E-ticket device I hit the 'clear' button to clear my signature. He quickly looked up at me like 'what the !!'. The when he was walking away he said 'drive carefully' - real quick i said 'you too' (just as a reaction not to be sarcastic) and he kinda stopped and looked at me real defensive like.

Bike hater.

just take the paid registration invoice or receipt. check online to see if its been processed and show up after 7pm on a weds to get it fixed. dont forget to bring the bikes insurance too.

usually after a week its ok to head to the court house. you can even call 311.

I'll get the exact text for you tomorrow but basically it must be mounted on the rear of the vehicle and have a white light that will enable the plate to be visible at 50 feet.

Alright. I'm going up there tomorrow.

Changed the bike so that they'll leave me alone. It was a mounting that light. I had to hacksaw an opening then smooth it out with a file.

what person can read a lp from 500 ft away? yall must be being to the cops or something cuz they have never pulled me over for that . oh and by the way cops write tickets so they can spend more time in court. they get paid time and 1 and half for as long as the are in court. traffic cops make a killing
