Toll Way Robbery

This is a usless thread ( ) but I wanted to see if this has happened to anyone or if anyone has ever heard of this before.

Going to get tires from Patrick after work today. Loaded the bike on the back of my truck for the ride in on the toll way. No EZ tag so I'm in the pay lane. Get to the booth and hand the young lady the standard $1.25 and as I start to pull off she says it's an additional $1.25 for the bike. WHAT THE BUCK!!!! Are you serious? That has never happened before. She claims it should have, but I think she was trying to jack me for a buck twenty-five. In the end I put on some of that southern charm and she let me go with a warning.....

Was that some BS or what?

That Toll Way .....

Ok I'm Done.... Have a good day.....

I woulda told her to have her supervisor come out...

They charge per axle... but that should be on the road, not in the bed of a truck etc.
I seriously doubt they charge those car haulers for each car they have loaded.

ill be damned if I would have paid her, the toll fee is per axle using the road, the bike was carried by other axles that have paid the fees. She would have had to call the police on me, cause i would have gone on.
seriously, I roll eztag, you think it charges for a bike in the back of a truck? nope.

That's not very cool. What if she has a family, better yet, what if you had a family and you misunderstood the rules or regulations and someone called and had you fired for a misunderstanding. Here comes the soap box stand for me. Everyone always thinks of themselves and what would make "me" happy and no one ever thinks about how their actions are going to impact others. Next time just think about someone else.

Sorry, I'm just having a ruff week.

if she has a family then she should respect her job more than trying to swindle a 1.25 from someone. if it was only a misunderstanding on her part, then she won't be fired anyways. but, none of us can know that, it's up to her supervisors to decide what's best. the less dishonest people we have working for the city the better. there are city workers arrested every month for bribery, embessilment (sp), theft, forgery, etc. the sooner we can get them out of that line of work, the better.

They charge per axle so if you're pulling a trailer its more. With that said it should be per axle touching the ground, so if its in your truck that lady is on crack. I'd tell her to get her supervisor, all the while sitting there in line and they have people waiting behind me.

Sucks for me when pulling my boat cause its on a tandem axle trailer! :BangHead:
