i just ordered some headlight ears and a speedo cable for my acewell gauge.
the electronics should be pretty much in place once i get those items in and on.
i'll have to get my in gear and get the speedometer to actually work then. i hate wiring. i hate it so bad.
any volunteers in the conroe area that want to mess with wiring for a couple of 6 packs or whatever? i can bring the instructions and all the stuff i should need. i just need someone to get it working. i have a bad history with wiring.

usefullness has always been a concern for me with the last few projects of mine. i have a cigarette lighter style power outlet that i just installed in my headlight bucket. hopefully i can shorten the wires and tie it in to get power. i have no clue where, which wire, or how or whatever though, so, lol.
maybe my dad can do the wiring. he has done tons of cop car accessories and whatnot. this has to be easier.

Chad and Steve were a big help in getting my bike all wired up. (I was pretty much clueless).

My 450 supermoto. Wiring up the control switch and other stuff, I didn't know where to start. My zb50 is still an ongoing project on the back burner. That will require wiring things up as well but i'm not quite there yet

Take that seat pan to an upholstry shop and have them make you a 1.5" pad and cover it in black vinyl and rivet it on. Bike looks good to me!

That seatpan is actually a metal mailbox base. it totally fits though, lol.
I like the idea of upholstering and using it.
I need a shorter brake cable though... looks like the cable touches the headers.
I would also like to raise the rear an inch or two. But now im just being picky...

woohoo!i just got my bike running at about the speed it should. i had it run last night, but the idle was super high. i think its because of how the throttle cable was run. i'll have to secure it in a better way. i really should get a shorter, or shortened throttle, clutch, and brake cable.
i have video of the bike running uploading to youtube now

WOO HOO!
i just went for about a mile and a half ride around the neighborhood.
i need taller bars. i found that out. i cant turn without hitting my knees. but it rides and brings smiles to the faces of myself and my kids
the exhaust sounds a little shitty. i might chop the mufflers off. i might get some aftermarket new mufflers... i might just deal with it and enjoy riding.

i still need to get a seat, get the headlight stuff on once it arrives, get it reg'd and inspected. chad, i'll visit you as soon as i can to see if you can wire this thing up right.

its a gooood day!

just now i have flipped the clubman bars, which i dont like the look of, but it does feel a lot better.
the stock seat... the one that was in pretty good condition when i got it... feels great with the upside down cafe bars.
i should have left it alone. i'll see if my mom can reupholster it with some good new foam.

its slow as , but it feels sooo good for me to be on 2 wheels again.

my package from dime city cycles came in today. fuel filter, acewell cb style oem plug in speedo cable, a pair of headlight ears, and some clear yellow fuel line that turned out to be slightly too big. my old fuel line broke as i was taking it off, so . no more putting around until i find the proper size. i'll try and get some day time pics up tomorrow. i have all the wiring crammed into the headlight bucket, with some classy cardboard over it. i'll let chad deal with that mess when it comes time to do it. lol

a little while ago i was trying to pry the carb free from the engine. it needs a cleaning, and after educating myself, im pretty sure the main jet is clogged, because it wont idle for . while working at the carb, trying to seperate it from the engine, i tried to gently pry it with a 10mm wrench. i broke a little plastic thing by doing this. the thing is like a 3/4 in spacer of some sort. it also has a hanging down wedge shaped thing that is as wide as the carb. my guess is that this is some sort of heat shield. i didnt crack the tube part, as far as i can tell... is this plastic hangey thingie important?
