I scored some time in the garage this morning and just a little while ago.
i am cleaningc the bottom of the bike. grime and whatnot. i have the engine in frame suspended from a garage rafter by one towing strap. the is so good.
i also got an idea for paint. i put some on and after one coat it looks good on the tank. I got a 3in wire wheel which helps to getting into nooks and crannies.
i polished the stator cover. i polished the exhaust bits and put the right.pipe on. ill try and get the left pipe undented later today after i wake up.
I have had a good quantity of mississippi mud black and tan and oh my . Where has this been all my life?
its early. i think ill go to bed.
oh... remember the leather seat i posted? wife is all for me geting it. Its mine on the 15th

and yeah, ok, man card and whatnot. i got it...
i dont like buying that her off. nothing good happens when she hulk is off

what diameter is the pipe? possible to just cut that piece out and weld in a new section?

it shouldn't be too hard to get something made up.

If you want to try to fix the original exahust, you can order pieces of stainless exhaust pipe online, that comes pre-bent to your liking. Places like Summit racing and Jegs sell it.

here's an idea i had this morning about my dented pipe. could i drill a hole in the back of the pipe, across from the dent, stick a metal rod in there and bang it out with a hammer? after the dent is out, i would have to plug the hole somehow. metal filler or weld over it? idea, good idea?

magicman has my tired wheels all ready to go. i just have to find some time to come by his shop.

i just buried my grandma today. her funeral was huge. former superintendent of brazoria school district, and a lot more in other aspects of public education.
the service began in lake jackson at 9. we then went to katy around ... 1? and put her in i guess the family plot. after that there was a get together at an aunt and uncle's house in sugarland. i drove my off today. i got back home at clost to midnight.
i didnt even think i was going to this thing until the last minute. 2 days ago, my family was blasting fluids/wastes out both ends.
i'm glad i went though. it was a very nice service. i got a chance to see some family i havent seen in years, and my son found his soulmate. my cousin's nearly same age little boy and mine were like 2 peas in a pod, being bastards all over the place together, lol. i loved that up until they started beating my old up. lol.
its been a fun day. i hope to get those damned wheels on soon though.

She really had lived a full life. parkinsons, alzhiemers, and lonliness though, have made the last 10 or so years particularly tough. i think she is in a better place now.

Well after reading your other thread and re-reading this one i noticed yours is cm200..the one i got is the 250, i was wondering why yours has a kick start and mine dont..
My dad bought it for $100 from a lady who got it from action suzuki in dallas in 1989.. it was kept under a carport for most of its life

a few little updates...
i have better secured the ignition switch on the right side of the front of the frame, just ahead of the tank. this looks pretty good.

i made a little bracket to bridge the 2 original gauge mounts on the top triple. this is now holding my spiffy digital acewell pod.

the tank and panels were painted green, but its kinda looking. im wanting to get a more british racing green. so like... duh... i need to get some brg.

i put the dented up pipe back on. i'll spring for a custom exhaust from this local shop that does these things well, when i have the money.

i threw it all together last night (minus the wheels that i still havent picked up yet) and it started on the first kick- yay.
i like this bike.
i should hopefully be getting the wheels this coming monday or tuesday. once i get all that back together, ill take some pics for yall

Bit by bit by bit my bike shapes up slowly. i have vowed to take no pics until i get the wheels back on, but i feel.like breaking that vow.
I put the bar end turn signals on and ive got a small air filter on, duct taped onto the rubber intake boot, lol.
ill be getting another filter the right size. its tempting to get a new carb with a cone filter since its only $30 on ebay.
as always, with any update, a lack of funds mandates a trickle of updates.

the clubman bars look cool.. I ordered some drag bars from bikebandit for mine, ups will be here today with 'em...
I was wondering what to do about the excess length of cables when changing the bars?

I havent gotten the wheels or anything. really its been feed the family or get parts. so yeah... ive been tinkering with what i have on hand.
i might make a seat pan out of a mailbox base. a limb fell on my mailbox, so i had to replace it. the fit is so perfect, it asks to be done.

haha... also my wife got a ticket for a inspection sticker hours ago.
so just it all.........
