Ran out of gas

I ran out of gas around 180miles. My bike completely just shot off on 146and fairmont, it scared the out of me. People said that you can hear when its time to switch it to the reserve but I couldn't tell any difference. My first thought was like my transmission just blew up. (idk why I thought that) Luckily I was going to go get gas already and my bike died right next to Walgreens so I walk it into their parking lot.. and turn on the reserve and it took it awhile to start but it eventually did. I am just glad no one was behind me at the time.
Lesson learned.

I's fancy, I can reset mine at fill up and it shows me how many gallons have been consumed.

Mine's fancier, it shows how much I've consumed as I ride, and when I hit reserve, it resets automatically at fill up.

Hey, I ran out this morning too.

I guess I misjudged my tank by a block and ran it in, that was the end of my reserve too.

Fun stuff, I ran out of gas between Houston and Jasper on some back roads a couple of weeks ago talk about being in the middle of no where and the next fuel stop being a good 10-15 miles away. Luckily I was with a friend who took off and brought back a gallon of fuel.

Lots of nice people out there btw (a few of them stopped and asked if i needed a lift or help).

I was honestly thinking in my head yesterday how far I could go till it would shut off... And I was going 50 mph. The thing is that it shot me forward that is why I freaked.

if you catch it quick when you start to run low, you can switch to the reserve on the move--loved that on the 500

Did it stop pretty aggressively that it feels like it kicked you forward? Dang I bet you're riding pretty hard, don't 250s normally get around 200miles?
