Gladius makes its way back for 2013...named SFV650

Being an SV-Haver I'm very glad to see that the gladius is making its way back to suzuki's lineup. Lets hope that they do some more improvements to the back (and that those improvements are, of course, backwards compatible with 2nd gen sv650's)

Heres the article: http://blog.motorcycle.com/2012/09/2...ning-for-2013/

not as fun as our genI was, but it's still a fun bike and 50mpg.

Good thing Suzuki is keeping the V-twin sport/standard alive. It's getting to be slim pickins for a guy looking for a honest-to-goodness street V-twin that isn't a 800 lbs gorilla cruiser.

What wrong with just plain SV650? "F" is supposed to stand for... "fine", "female", "freedom"?

I spoke with several dealer reps who told me that many of the Japanese makes, including Suzuki, skipped a model year on slower moving bikes just so the dealder are not forced to order them. Apparently there are contractual agreements between mfrs and dealers that they have to order a minimum quantity of each model. When times are tough, some bikes might sit on the showroom for years before getting sold.

The poor VFR1200 is a good example. Honda skipped 2011 entirely, and even though the updated blue 2012 has been out for a year or so, some dealers are still sitting on '10 red ones.

The only affordable (somewhat) V-twin standard/naked in production I can think of are the Duc Monsters.

volfy you should really hop on a sv1000 if you're looking for a "bigger" v-twin, and are interested in the 90-degree design

i know their last production year was like what? 2010? 2009? but there are still some nice ones to be had Motorcycles Unlimited had a SWEET "s" model for like 4,500 that i wanted SO badly.

plus its my personal opinion that the sv1000/sv650 2nd gen's have the best tail light out currently on a production sport bike

I still don't understand why they dropped the SV650 and SV650S from their line up. They always seem to sell well and really appealed to beginners.
