No need for a bike inspection at a meet. This should be performed before leaving home.

It's easy for someone to miss something.....or it could be all fine till you get to the meet spot...then you notice you forgot to tighten something or left a couple of screws out...or picked up a nail.....

Besides, not everyone that rides is mechanically inclined...some, riders need help from others... that's how we learn...from others..

I may regret this but I agree with Jim here.
Its not about being the inspection Nazis...just giving all the bikes a look see to address anything before everyone takes off. It is easier to tighten a loose bolt than go looking for the part that flew off at 90mph.
Also, I have seen some shabby assed tires show up before and maybe they just did not know better???

I really hope that the Repsol couple does not think thier chain had anything to do with this? That was just one of those mechanical things that can and did happen.

Jim (I think) is talking about a little last ditch PM to avoid things that could be prevented.

totally agree...was only joking... what ever helps... I truly think things happen for a reason, and for the most part we all show up mostly prepared.

Not pointing at the snapped chain...or bashing anyone ..just a thought..i have noticed things wrong on peoples bike that they never noticed before...we sometimes tend to overlook things right in front of us...seen kinked brake lines, frayed cables, loose chains, sprockets with teeth missing....and none of these guys thought much of it..

I had a friend that complained his bike was acting funny in corners after lower it down..we thought it was the geometry change....a few weeks later i rode with him and noticed his chain was tight...he failed to loosen his chain after lowering it....i mean it was stopping the rear suspension from compressing normally....we loosened his chain and the bike rode better...but his bearings had to be replaced later..

To run like you guys do, sure I'd need to get a bigger bike. I mean I was topped out at 110 on the straights, but you boys get there faster than i do! So the separation is ineveitable.

However, I want to thank Ridesmart for showing me how to get off the track. I was right behind ya'll somewhere and i actually went off the road in the turn, however i straightened up and rode it straight up and down the ditch. pretty cool!

The way ya'll ran, 250's wouldn't be able to keep up either.

Anyways, it was an adventurour ride for sure! When Me and Thanh got stuck behind some trucks and we couldn't find ya'll, we switched bikes just so i could try out his Ninja. Again thanks for letting me ride it Thanh!

When we couldn't find ya'll, me and him split and i decided to go to Burton for Lunch. That's when i found Lucar and 07Blanco, apparently trying to find water and drinks for Repsolryder and his Girl.

We found them and waited for his wrecker to come by, and after that we met up with Jim, David and madtrini for lunch. Then after off we went!

Sounds like you need to take it down a notch.

If you ever feel you are running wide, looking through the turn will help to save you from a runoff. That's what you should have learned at the trackday...but yes, knowing how to control a run off is important too. However, runoffs are only allowed on the track, not the street.
