Perfect for a starter bike. If he's that worried then get the 500

makes you use your brain vs throttle hand.........riding smart is always better then riding fast.

250s are still faster then most cars on the road.

I'm 5' 11" 320lbs and a ninja 250 gets me around with out any problems. Think of it this way a Ninja 250 has a power to weight ratio of 7.73 lbs/HP. A C6 corvette has a power to weight ratio of 7.95 lbs/HP.

a 250 is a great commuter bike... light, easy to handle...kind of fun in around town traffic...quicker of the line than most any car out there.. will run at any speed limit around here...I tend to snicker when i hear someone tell me that they got bored with a 250.. that usually tells me that they never really learned how to ride it...

Maybe wait for the ninja 300 to come out, it should be in dealerships by late October.

I've got an Fz1...kicked around the idea of getting a 260 for my commute or going back down to the fz6 at least.

If someone was to give one away I'd jump on it. :-)

if i had the room to park it and the time to ride it, i would add a cbr250 to the stable in a heart beat. I am 6' and 225lbs and i would love to ride one at GSS

There was a guy here on the forum that had the older 250 and was about that size. He rode it like no problem. Plush handling. At least with the newer 250 he can set the preload on the rear.

You can test ride the 250 anytime Obed, but it's no CBR

I have a Ducati Streetfighter and recently purchased a Ninja 250. I dare say the Ninja is more fun to ride!
