State Troopers

A guy here at work just told me that he believes that a Texas State Trooper cannot write you a ticket if he isn't wearing his hat, as he is not in full uniform.

Any truth to this?

Discussion was brought up because he got a ticket this morning from a Houston Police Officer who was wearing a black under armor skull cap -- and I thought that was pretty ridiculous.

Trooper not being able to write tickets without hat sounds right to me.

Are they not peace officers like the rest of the police? I doubt there's any truth to that. . .but I'm a skeptic by nature.

my ladies father is a 30 yr. veteran of the DPS and I'm pretty sure that they are suppose to wear the Hat when on the job, but not sure it excuses you being liable for not receiving a ticket.

I'm quite sure they are supposed to wear there hat at all times when in uniform but I doubt seriously you won't get a ticket cause he doesn't happen to have his hat on.
