I came around a corner last week and my rear wheel went over a flattend plastic soda bottle. It was worse then when I slipped in the dead pigon.

bottles scare the out of me, for that reason.

I don't have the side plastics anymore, they went out with the trash, this morning. I'll post some pics of what the bike looks like now, tomorrow. I have the front plastic still on (minimum modifications) so that I still have a head light. The absolute worse part of it, is that it looks like a Buell now !

To the OP, glad you are ok, chalk it up to a learning experience. No way to prove where the tread came from, could have fallen out of the back of a TexDOT Truck after they picked it up miles away. Just another hazard of riding, if riding was easy, then everyone.....(insert cliche' here)
