how much is license renewal? If i did first race in november, id have to renew it for next year also.

175.00 for whole year, you only need to pay 25.00 for rest of the year oct to decTransponder is one thing also.

you can rent it at the cmra even, if you are not going to race ALL THE TIME

Still NEED safety wire and leftside cover.

talk to forum sponsors or some forum members will safety wire your whole bike for 50.00What class do i race in with a stock 600?

2012 cmra rule book

Yah, expensive kind of sums it up

i might be wrong, but that is all i can remember without reading all my paper work.
Some misinformation in the above post. A 2 piece is acceptable so long as it zips together. Last Race I saw people wearing two pieces.
Here's the rulebook info:

1) Separate jackets and pants are acceptable only if they zip or snap together to make one piece of
clothing, pending approval of the Technical Inspector.

2) Yearly License fee is $145, good for calendar year. Oct 1.- Dec 31st it's $25 as mentioned above. Good for TWS (Texas World Speedway) race only, since ECR is Sept 29-30.

600's can race in C classes, C Superstock and C Superbike. You can race up classes as well. B-SS and B-SB are 750CC and below. So there's four classes available to anyone on a 600. Some guys race up in the A classes(1000cc's) as well. I hope this info helps you!

Sean's story:

You grid up at the start with nervous anticipation; all your attention focused on what's to come. You watch the flagman to throw the green flag. The race starts and you join the stampeding herd of bikes into the first corner. You roll off early because you remember that two physical objects cannot occupy the same physical space. Everyone clears the first corner and begins to string out. You fall in behind someone and try to stay with them. You realize there's a ridiculous grin on your face and you proceed to drop seconds off your laptimes that would take half a year to achieve just from that one race. You go home and spend most days planning for the next race weekend. Trackdays are no longer enough.

You are now main-lining racing straight into your veins!
I've raced 6 weekends now and nothing compares to it, most fun you can have with your clothes on!

I can almost assure you, that you will find someone that's about your pace to race with.
You only have to Corner work one day now. You can pay someone to work the other day for you. If you like motorcycle racing, than a front row (CW) seat is awesome!

my best lap at TWS (Texas World Speedway) is 2:14.7

a quick look at the results from CMRA's last visit to TWS (Texas World Speedway) shows that the last place guy (superstock A) was able to run down to 2:11.

Nope, nobody at my pace!

Actually, I thought the same thing CMRA rule excerpt:

Clothing must be leather or Kevlar. All suits must be a one-piece garment for racing. Separate jackets and pants are acceptable only if they zip or snap together to make one piece of clothing, pending approval of the Technical Inspector.

I am not talking about getting lapped. I am talking about battleing it out.

Sounds like you should just give up now and shoot yourself.

racing is fun, period...the chase is fun...I have not actually finished last yet except when I fell down, but being as I was racing unlimited I probably would have finished last or next to last... but it was still fun...
the expense you mention must be cmra, because with TMGP it is not that bad...
annual membership is in the $30 or so range... race school is like $35.. the gate fee for the weekend is like $12.. and then the cost of each race...
first race is $35, second is 25, third is 15 and every race after that is 5...so you could race 8 races for 100 or so...if you are up to it...
and not sure about the 16 hour thing... in TMGP you are only obligated to 2 hours of corner working.

the feeling you get when that green flag drops, priceless.
This men knows what he is talking about. ex250 ftw!

Nope, nobody at my pace!

I can almost guarantee, that you will go faster than you've ever gone on that track while racing. Why are you running a lap timer? The CMRA will do that for you!

One of the MOST fun times I ever had was during a CCS race in 08 in a battle for 4th. I came in 5th, but he and I went at it for 3 solid laps back and forth. HUGE rush. we finished with my front wheel at his gas tank.

Who cares if you dont stand a chance for 1st? Its all about being out there and battling with friends(and foes) Its about pushing yourself and living on the edge.
