Quick Feedback Needed: Honda XR100 Dirtbike

I am eyeballing an 2002 XR100R Dirtbike for my son. I know absolutely nothing about Hondas other than reliability.
Is this a good beginner bike? Any issues/experience with these?

Looking to teach my son clutch and braking.

Xr80s and xr100s are perfect bikes to learn on. I can't count how many people I've tought how to ride on one of those.

it is a good bike to learn on and makes a great race platform for TMGP racing... and they start the kids racing at 8 yrs. old...
, I race on one and love it....I have 7 bikes and that is my favorite.

If it's a good price and runs, go for it. Perfect bike for your intentions. Plus, you can still ride it, too.

+1

I had an xr100 and taught a handful of my friends how to ride motorcycles on it. Great way to learn clutch, gas, and brakes.

Learning on dirt bikes also let's the rider get used to how a bike reacts beyond the limits of traction, without too much drama. For most beginners who does only street riding, the first time they feel a wheel break loose is a split second before their first crash.
