No kidding... i'm dissappointed that the Gladius and ER6n only stuck around for ONE year. Gladius, I can understand as being a large manufacture decision... cause they cancelled it's sv650 counterpart (which I don't like). But the Ninja 650r is still sold... so sell it's ER6n counterpart!

Compared to the ER6N and Gladius, the MT-03 just looks so much more exotic. To me, Yamaha outdid even Aprilia's Shiver 750 on the cool factor.

I don't know what MT stands for, but "Monster Torque" would be very appropriate. The MT-01's 1,671cc twin would have filled in nicely the niche created by Buell but is now sitting empty.

IMO, It looks more oddball... not necessarily exotic.
But it DOES stand out in a crowd.

But preferences are completely different, and that's why we all have different bikes (well, exceot you gsxr and R6 riders )

It's air- and oil-cooled. Not sure anything can be purely air-cooled and still meet emissions (EPA etc.) these days. Even Harley is working on water-cooled heads.

I think an oil cooler looks perfectly fine on a retro bike. Oil cooler kits were available for most air-cooled bikes back in the days. I installed one on my Yamaha Maxim XJ650.

MT01 is great. Test drove a few times, and that thing has so much torque. But in the states, the naked just doesn't have the place. (B-King was a perfect example, great bikes that dun sell)
