Question Bikes making weird "whistling" noise?

My bike started making this weird whistling noise yesterday while out riding. Gets louder as i rev the bike up. Does it in neutral and while riding. Anyone have any experience or knowledge on what could be causing it? Everything is running fine, its just making that noise.

Airbox leak? My old Duc 900 (w/ K&N's) used to make a wicked howl when I was on the gas, awesome sound once I knew it was supposed to sound like that.

tell your bike to quit whining, its about to cool down and you'll ride more!

Did it start out of the blue or after some maintenance?

Do feel it around the crankcase or transmission area? Could be loose airbox too

reminds me about the time I first started to notice the sucking sound coming from my carbs. Thought they were dirty but no.
That's just the sound 4 carbs make when revving up.

Hard to diagnose online;

Would you consider it a whistle from air or more of a high-pitched mechanical whine?

Along w the screwdriver trick mentioned above, you can also do the same with a rubber hose to your ear. It will help isolate the location of the noise.

Low on oil? if the noise is coming from the throttle areas is the housing fitted properly? Try to look for leaks w a smoker or carb cleaner? Not trans related since it happens in neutral.

Sounds more like it has something to do with the intake. I'll check it out this weekend.
