Wiring license plate light

I need to install a license plate light on a 04gsxr 750, under the cowl there are 2 blk and 2 yellow cables that are cut off, am I correct in assuming these are the cables I need to use and that blk is ground and yellow is power? There isn't any light currently connected, Ill be doing some night riding tonight.

Thanks

Just use a voltmeter and see which has power when the key is switched on.

it's not yellow.. i'ts solid black.. and black/white stripe.. PM me.. I offer to help you not start fires on your bike. Just make sure u buy/bring solder, soldering iron and heatsink. The license plate light is constantly on. i have an LED strip to test for continuity to make sure which wires work when you bike is turned on.

You sound like wonderful help until you say,

" i have an LED strip to test for continuity to make sure which wires work when you bike is turned on. "

Invest in a multimeter
