Lost my plate!

I went out to take the trash out and I walked past my bike and my license plate/registration/inspection sticker are all gone!! The latter two were on the bracket I got fomr Honda of Houston. The last time I rode my bike was last Sunday, so it might have been missing since then...

Should I just call up the DMV and let them know? Do I have to jump through any hoops to get a new plate?

This sucks...

You should have no problem getting another one. I had mine stolen awhile back and just paid to get another plate and had to have it inspected again.

just go to the DMV and ask for another one, it will be like 15 dolars or so. Just tell them that you lost it riding and that is it. The inspection, like todd said, u need it inspected again.

Go down to the courthouse and they'll give you a new one on the spot.

Bring proof of ownership of the bike, the title if possible or a copy of the registration, you'll also need a copy of your insurance.

Same thing happened to me just a few weeks ago. Read Here

Easy enough to get a new plate, just don't forget to file a police report and get a case number - that way if anyone runs tolls, gets snapped on a red light camera, etc. you've got legal backing to fight it.

Also - if you have a toll tag registered to the plate get it changed over as soon as you get the new plate#.
