Rarely do you and I agree.

OP- If you're really looking to improve your skills a trackday is the best place to start. It's probably the safest place to do it, too. Check out the FastLine section here in MH. We've got a TD coming up and an open spot in novice just for you!

you do not need more experience for a trackday.. as long as you have been riding and as often as you say you ride, the time for a trackday is now... before you develop too many bad habits that you just have to turn around and unlearn...
when the basic controls are instinct and not thoughts, you are ready for a trackday...

Twist of the wrist has good info. Practice at your own pace. A track day would be ideal. I've almost
Ate it on racers road due to a pot
Hole. Lot easier to test your limits out on a track where you don't have to worry about that type of stuff.

Also - - disengage the steering lock otherwize you can only push the bike to the left.

Join one of the noob rides
Have a more experienced rider follow you
They can critique your problem areas
If you have a gopro,film the ride with the gopro facing you
You'll learn so much quicker when you see yourself
