It's all about using the bars to turn the bike. Push on the left grip, go left. Push on the right grip, go right. Look ahead in the turn at where you want the bike to go. Don't look right in front of you, look ahead

Maybe it's a nerve thing. I was at racers road few days ago thought I was doing soso but then saw a duo, looked like gixxers, blow by and hit the turns wayyyyy harder.

They've probably had more practice, even track days

ultimately the bike is more important then the rider. you've been riding months, maybe they've been riding longer then you've been alive.

save yourself alot of grief and ride your own ride and develop your own skills.

you'll NEVER be the fastest guy anywhere. until we see your name on the moto GP grid.

and i would highly recommend a trackday.

It is a nerve thing. You have to slowly work up to it. After a while you can go faster without being nervous. First things first. Get comfortable with how far the bike can lean. I know lots of people will chime in with going to a track day, but I think before you go dropping a bunch of coin doing that business you should simply find a safe place to practice to get a feel for a safe deep lean. Before you go trying to keep up with the crazies on Racers Road you need to get comfortable with using all of your tire. Good place to start is an empty parking lot. The Academy parking lot on 59 and Shepard is a good one. Mark off a turn in point and attempt to make a u turn within 4 or 5 parking spots at whatever speed you feel comfortable. Slowly build up speed while staying with 4 or 5 parking spots. Once you get up to 25 mph or so you'll probably being leaning pretty good. Maybe an effort to look where you want to go, push the inside bar, and drop your shoulder down every single time you take a turn whether you are in a lot or not. Do it every night and after a while muscle memory will develop and you are leaning deeper and more comfortably for every turn. You probably won't even notice how much more you are leaning the bike because you are simply more comfortable doing so. Then one day as you are leaving a stop light minding your own business, bam...you peg touches the ground without you even trying. It sounds elementary but you would be suprised at how much it helps and it's relatively safe. Start with the slow stuff and then build up from there. Just my $0.02.

Check out some videos on counter-steering and remember to always look through the turn and not down at the turn. Always scan ahead before you hit the turn. Follow the turn with your head and just maintain a speed you feel comfortable with. Just like with anything it takes plenty of time and practice. Don't ever try to keep up with riders that are more advanced than you. You will get there with time and practice.

I hate that term. IMO since there's only one way to use the bars to turn, let's just call it steering

you have more then enough experience to do a trackday, in fact you're a perfect candidate for one.

you're supposed to go there to learn, not be fast. that comes w/ time

do it!

Slow and steady is always better than fast and broken. Let it develop on your time.
Look into noob rides here where you can talk to and follow a much more experienced rider. Then look into going to a trackday!
