tire Q's

ok so i need to be educated on "scalloping". i'v been getting a lot of instability at high speeds and it was kind of intermittent. the bike is fairly new to me, i'v had it about 2 months now. it has a perelli diablo strada up front and a shinko 009 raven in back. so yesterday i took it out for about an hour and a half and on my way back i was rolling it up to 80-90 mph or so. and it started to wobble, almost violently, tryed it again and again with the same result. got home and noticed high and low spots over the front tire, barely noticeable by looking at it but running my hand over the tread it feels really prominent. the front TP hasn't been below 36 cold since i'v owned it. so what gives? could it have sat in one spot too long? improper fork adjustment? previous owner might have neglected TP?

as for the rear, no scalloping to speak of but it is starting to square off. when i purchased the bike the tire looked almost brand new. hasn't been below 38 since i'v owned it. i'v put probably just shy of 1k miles on it total. i use it to commute with on fair weather days, but my commute is probably more twisty than most. spirited back road stuff on the weekends. so is this just a fact of life or is there something else going on here?

so now i'm looking at new tires. i'm reading a lot of good feedback about the Q2's and mich PP 2CT'S. reading lots of ins and outs with these two, but really i think i'd be happy with either. any input?

like ryan said sounds like the tire isn't balanced properly or you could have it misaligned. It could be head shake. IE do the bars start shaking violently at 80-90?

Since bike is new to him the front end could be out of whack also. Loosen axle nut and fork pinch bolts. Bang front tire into a wall and compress forks up and down to align everything up. Then tighten pinch bolts and do it again. lastly tighten axle nut.
