The difference between your build and mine are that i make progress faster, but i have no patience. your bike will be so much nicer because you took the time to do things right.

If there's anything this bike has taught me, it is definitely to have patience... I started buying so many parts the second I finished tearing everything down, some parts I've ordered have been wrong... and I couldn't return them because I didn't get to that part of the build until after a year whoops.

My first big project was a huge waste. i spent around 2000 on it before trading it for a vt500c that was a complete wreck. i wanted a honda ascot, which the vt500c was similar to, but the bike was a complete . oh well. i think i learned something.

Not gonna lie, there have been times where I've thought about giving up on this project... Still chugging along slowly.

Motorcycles Unlimited has finished lacing up the wheels, though the Powder coat didn't hold up too well Still looks super nice regardless. Waiting on them to contact me about tire prices. Looking pretty good to finish in 3 years.... JK JK, I'm now aiming for August!

Don't give up.
Keep focused on how sweet it will be to ride a bike that is straight out of your head. Instead of some guy in an office overseas, YOU were the designer.
Every time you see the bike you will have a sense of accomplishment that a bike you bought somewhere will never give you.

Now, hurry up! I wanna see more pics!

Thanks! Believe me I want to finish this thing as fast as possible. I haven't even touched the engine yet It scares me... I'll post up the "shell" so to speak when I get the wheels back. I'll have the tank and seat mocked up, and the wheels and shocks on

RECAP: Awhile ago (and I mean AWHILE) I got my wheels back from pc'er and sent them to Motorcycles Unlimited to get laced up. Happy overall but spent a lot more money than I thought I would The spokes I got off ebay two years ago didn't fit so Patrick had to order some OEM ones... $$$ later and they are done. Had Patrick put on some new tires as well. Nothing special, but I couldn't get the tires I really wanted because of the spokes ordeal. 2 lessons learned: Ask Patrick for advice before doing anything and don't order the parts unless you're going to work on it immediately.

Well I've done some little things here and there, assemble the sprocket to the rear wheel, rotor to the front, painted some things (hope the paint holds up as long as possible), and freaked out about some nuts and bolts I've misplaced. At least I get to buy some shiny new ones. Sorry for my shaky hands Red Bull and Coffee

This is build is looking sick. All the attention to details are what makes the bike stand out more

The wheels and new parts are looking absolutely beautiful! I'm using this forum as well as your thread not only as inspiration but also an extent guidance for what to do/not to do for my soon-to-start CB450 hardtail build.

Once I start, I'll get a thread going on here as well. In the meantime, the type-A personality part of me is building an xls spreadsheet with parts costs, site(s) and also who/where I'm getting welding etc. done for me so I can ballpark out the costs etc.

Keep up the good work! I'll keep reading
