Checking out the people that rsvped it looks likes more females than males. I usually spot under gay stuff to be avoided but i didn't think of it when I looked at this patch and the name united I just thought about the black/white shaking hands.

That aspect caught my eye, as well, which is a great message. Couldn't figure out the swords, unless is was some reference to the Civil War. In the end, it was probably just the artists best attempt at drawing, and it just came out looking a little strange.

Hope it really is just a symbol of unity, and not a symbol of swashbuckling pirates!
