Would you pay a small fee to have someone help you sell your bike?

When my friend posted his 600rr for sale, it didn't get too many bites and the offers were very low. I offered to take pictures and video of his bike and put a new posting up, and his bike sold in 2 days for about $800 more than what his highest offer was with his old CL ad.

This got me to thinking, if I were actually to start taking photos as a fun way of practicing while getting paid a small fee for time, would people actually be interested??? By small fee, im thinking $50 so depending on how far out it is

Maybe im just being dumb...but I figure I'd ask what you would do

I do it for a living. I spend all day shooting for a car dealer, and shoot cars on the side for listings. I'm not a professional by any means but the company I work for sold 25 a month with crappy point and shoot pics. Now they sell 100 a month. Nothing brings more interested people like decent pics of all the features, body, etc.

I do not like to sell things... don't like strangers coming to my house...
if i were to want to sell one of my bikes, i would proabably take it to patrick and have him sell it for me...

This would work for a top notch bike trying to get top notch $.

I would hire you to take some pics of the Duc, but I don't know about selling a 3K trackbike.

Maybe find a good spot close to your house, they bring to you, $25 and they get three-five shots?

I dunno, sounds like it could work though with some planning.

One thing I do is write up the listing and upload the pics for them as well, using their contact info. So all they do is bring me the vehicle and info, then sit back and wait for calls. I charge 100 for cars but that's 60+ shots. 50 for bike shots plus 10 minutes to write up the listing is fair I'd think.

I've never had a problem selling anything, but that is likely due to the fact that I am very detail oriented and provide good info and photo documentation in all of my ads. Also, I typically look past ads that lack pictures and tend to spend more time looking at ads with numerous quality pictures. I can see how this would be beneficial to some, but I wouldn't have a need for the service myself. I can't help but think...do people post ads because they don't know any better or because they don't give a ? I say try it and good luck...what have you got to lose?

Flip , I do this for quite a few of my friends. Most the reason I have stuff for sale ALL the time. They ask me to sell some items for them for a small fee (depending on the item) Works best when they just dont want to hassle with it or deal with all the BS. They give me a call, bring it to me and rest is taken care of from there on. Helps both of us out. They don't have to deal with anyone, and I get a little extra spending cash in my pocket. Who wouldn't turn down a couple extra bucks? lol

I am certain that it would work at a fair price...
You could also hit up the local universities and offer to provide a modeling portfolio to those that qualify

I say some are posting just as a feeler and dont really want to sell...but others clearly just dont know any better.

When I sell anything online, I always ask myself...what does someone who's looking to buy what I am selling looking at in an ad? And i post accordingly.

What i hate the most though is when they ask a question that is clearly stated in the ad...
