There's a lot to be said for being young! I like to travel relatively unplanned/structured, too. Sounds like a great bunch of memories, good for you for tackling the adventure. Thanks for posting the write up.

Great trip and great story!! Good to see people out RIDING GSXRs and not just posing on them or tracking em.

I'd love to take some long trips on mine but just never have the time... I've done a few 500 mile days on it but always end up back at home that same day..

I wouldn't have taken a Gixxer myself, but glad it worked out for you.

I feel your pain with the winds. When I was in Wyoming this summer on my trip the gust were 40-45mph. I was so glad I didn't have a full faired bike. I would have probably been blown around worse. That was the worst day of riding in my life. All day wind. And then there were antelope that were always crossing the road to boot.
