It took some good fortune for me and bad luck for others, but it finally happened!

I won a dang expert race!

First race outing on the new BMW and I couldn't be happier. No one really has any data on this bike so I am having to interpret what it's doing wrong, what it does well and relay that info to a tuner and try to get a bike set up well. Something that I am not very good at. Thankfully, this bike seems pretty spot on out of the box.

Unfortunately a couple of guys crashed in front of me and I was able to bring one home in Formula 1 Expert. Not the way I would have liked to get my first expert win but I'll take what I can. For those that don't know, the top couple of guys that race the A classes are unreal. I doubt if I will ever be able to beat them straight up so I gotta take what I can get.

Even though my other couple of races I finished off the box, I still managed a new personal best by over a second. Hopefully a sign of good things to come with the new steed.

Big thanks to TA and Lisa for helping me out today. Making sure pressures were right, bike was fueled, warmers on etc.

Saturday went just as well! With some more misfortune by the mighty SCRC KTM team we were able to snag a 1st in class and 2nd overall in the Endurance race aboard the 212 Decals GSXR 1000. Oh yea... and with those KTM guys out, ole Brandt was able to turn the fastest lap of the race.

Huge and I mean HUGE thanks to Dennis and RobbieRob for the help. It's essential to have some hands around for refuels and tire changes. Thanks again guys!

I want to thank a few local Houston companies (who all happen to be MH sponsors!) that hopefully you guys will give a shot at your business. They guys have really helped me out and many other racers. House of Paint (full motorcycle service, parts and paint), Whoopies Cycles (Dunlop Race Tire Distributor, Service and Parts), Go-Fast Don't-Crash (Ballistik gear, parts), Motorcycles Unlimited (Full motorcycle service and parts), Mancuso Southwest (BMW, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph, Ducati dealer, parts and service), 212 Decals (decals, screen printing, shirts, numbers, etc).

Thanks for all the high fives, hand shakes and thumbs ups over the weekend. Good times!

Ya know.. I never even won a novice race. Got bumped real quick and lost an appeal. I won one rookie expert race in 2010 and that one felt about as good as this one. But my pace, this time around, is much more satisfying.
