huh... sounds like a potential PIA if you wanted to get it titled and the previous owner felt like reporting it stolen.

yep...sounds like you'd have to do bonded title....then have your bike taken away along with all the money for bond and purchase price

I always thought getting a bonded title protects you from this?

A mech lein used to be easier to get. The owner will be able to fight to get this bike back. No way in I would buy it except to part out

Only way u cover ur is if bike got a mechanic lien and owner has been notify. Otherwise he can say shop sold it without his concern and he had the money to pay for it getting fixed

all a bonded title fors is protect you from being sued or criminally held responsible for buying a stolen bike.

when you register the bond, ita an insurance policy that it makes you not liable for a bike in the event the "rightful" owner claims it as stolen.

You then lose the bike, the money you paid for it, and the cost of the bond and title.
