Conroe-Galveston Thur nite & back Sat eve

I'm goin straight down 45 to the island tonight; like, leaving in the next 30min or so. I don't usually ride in the dark, don't have a great light kit, but couldn't have gone sooner and have to be there by 6:30am, so tonight it is.

I'm stayin at the San Luis for a conference, then I'll be comin back Saturday afternoon. Anybody who spots me, a red V-star Silverado, goin either way, feel free to jump in.

Arrived on the island 10 min ago. *Gonna take Broadway all the way to the Seawall. *Too great a ride not to. *Been rainin down here so all the streets have that reflected glow. Very pretty.

Yeah I'm on the seawall as well. Nice weather, minus the wind! Enjoy your night/ride!

Now that it's lookin like a 60% chance I'm ridin home in the rain, I'm considering an alternate route home. I'm thinking about 146 to 321 to 105, but it's longer and could be squirrelly-er, if you take my meaning; and I'm not really familiar with that route. But 100 miles on 45 in the rain, Pierce Elevated and all... Idk. I know i can do it, just thinkin my knuckles might go white a time or two. Any advice?

Edit: I'm probably leaving the island at 5:00 or 5:30, when the predicted chance of rain appears highest, and my only option for changing that timeframe is to go later, not earlier. Maybe I just chill on the island till the rain stops -- and then it's dark again.

I know I can do any/all of this, I'm capable, but advice from experts on doing it potentially smarter is always nice.

Got lucky, leaving early after all, ahead of the rain. I'll try for next Friday, but can't promise.
