Exclamation Buyer Beware! (long read scroll for cliff notes)

About a month or two ago i saw this on CL

http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/3182172746.html

I went to take a look and got to ride it around the block real quick.

Since then the price has been lowered from i think $6000, maybe more.

I had never heard of a "graffiti edition" zx6r so i googled and this is what i found

http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=212369

Same bike, same pics (looked at photobucket data). Only the mileage is now 1,300 vs 21,000.

Upon examination of the bike i noticed sections of the graphics that had peeled off. Chips in the windscreen, tires in need of replacement (not even stock tires), etc. The "salesman" also mentioned the clutch had been replaced. After riding it, the bike just felt "used". Not near what a 1300 mile bike should feel like. Heck the 6000 mile bike i just bought rides better. Tell me what bike needs tires and a clutch at 1300 miles.

No way this bike has 1300 miles on it. He showed me the title which had the original purchase mileage of 1 mile, but the mileage from the transfer was missing.

When questioned on the phone about the ad I saw on MH, "You're not the first person to ask about that, I don't know whats up". When questioned at the store, "We have had this bike for a few months, not sure". Two different "salesmen".

I may be a new member here but I have been riding for 8 years. 1300 miles is as good as brand new. Its a big accusation, however my theory is it was hard to sell a bike with 21k miles so the guage cluster was replaced. I dont know the proper channels to make a formal complaint with DPS or whomever, so I figured this would be the next best thing.

From what i was told they are trying to start a dealership currently selling from a Cricket Wireless store. Not a good start. Some of his bikes may be legitimate, however i would steer well clear of this one unless you plan to rebuild as a track bike.

If you're the dealer PM me and explain. I'll retract my statement.

Bike for sale
http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/3182172746.html

Same bike for sale beginning of the year
http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=212369

Same bike, same pics, same photobucket account. Clutch replaced, needs tires, peeling vinyl, etc. You do the math.

Good on u for catching that! Im sure they are trying to scam. That bike has been for sale for a very long time and yea clutch at 1500 miles? Pffft. U did exactly what I would of done was walk away. This person/dealer/shop/whatever takes the same kind of pics of all thier bikes so its kind of easy to steer clear. I can see thier craigslist scam a mile away but others may not, thanks for posting.

its even the same effing phone number in the two ads. No way they did not know about the mileage discrepancy. I would turn them in for fraud that is total BS

I noticed all that when they first posted it on here and on CL. They took it off the internet for a couple weeks or so in the process, but suprised theyd try pulling this off. Would have been better leaving it at 21k. Not the only shady bike. Just trying to make a little cash like every other bike they sell that they buy off of CL.
Had a guy come in my store saying he just bought it from them, was ROUGH looking. paid full price. its a shame.

at one time it was for sale by a member of the forums but I think only on craigslist. The ugly graffiti got my attention the the super bald rear tire that said it was good in the ad.
