Welcome! Congrats on the bike and kudos for staying in your comfort level in the parking lots. When you're ready hit up some of these guys and go for a ride, there's a lot of great people on here!

2005 sv650n

Welcome! And sweet bike! I also ride a blue sv650 its also my first bike and I have now put over 2k miles on it. You are doing the right thing by staying in parking lots and small roads, practice what they taught you in the course, I did the same thing until I felt comfortable to go exploring. If you wanna ride hit me up!

Sweet. Thanks for the advice and offers guys. Will definitely hit you up for some riding time once I get comfortable enough to start battling other cars and traffic!

I spent quite a bit of time riding around the neighborhood area west of hwy 99 between highland knolls/bayhill and west park. Most of those roads are 2 lanes each way, so you don't hold anyone up, and have gradual curves so you get accustomed to more than just dead straight. They have just enough stop signs that you can practice up and down shifting as well as a speed limit higher than 30mph.... but much lower than hwy.

The large highschools (Cinco, Morton, Seven Lakes) are where i would normally suggest practicing (HUGE lots), but school starts next week, and teachers are already there this week.
