Thundercat is YZF600, Thunderace is YZF1000. They are not like the R1. If you have the 600 then parts are easier to find. Not so for the 1000.

That is not a YZF-R1 and I can't imagine that any of the parts are interchangeable. Depending on the current condition and mileage, it may or may not be worth restoring.

You're confusing everyone by getting your lingo screwed up. A thundercat is a 600cc sport touring bike. A 99 R1 is a completely different 1000cc super sport bike. Different in essentially every way possible.

Right like I said when I run the vin it comes up as a r1000....
From my understanding there was no r1 in 1997/98 witch means it has to be a thunderace

People that bought the YZF1000 were really at Yamaha for pushing the bike hard like it was gold then POW, the R1 comes out of nowhere making the YZF people feel like chumps stuck with a twoyear old out-of-date bike.

I was poor so I bought the YZF600 new and then became a legend by buying the first gen R1. Yep....looks at nothing and remembers them old days.
