Mike, I appreciate the recommendation, but we don't get too far off into modding 690's from an engine stand point.
I'm unfamiliar with any local Husky dealers, but both Cycle Shack North and Wild West Honda are KTM dealers.

No Husqvarna dealer in Houston yet. Closest is in Austin and there's also one in Dallas now. I keep hoping that a dealer here will add Husky to their line. I mean come on the 4th largest city in the US and nothing doesn't make sense.

No kidding. I'm having to ship my engine to Illinois for a rebuild. Pain in the . Closest Husky dealership is Napalm Motorsports in Austin. They have the 511s in stock right now. Houston has a few KTM dealerships. Wild West Katy and Houston Sport Cycles to name a few.

Thanks guys! Im from utah and I thought houston would for sure have a husky dealer this place is massive! haha anyone around here ride 690's? I thought about swapping sumos on the 500exc but im mostly a street rider and id like to ride this to work (8miles) when the weather is nice. Husky is probly out of the question 511 is too hot of a motor for me to flog the out of everyday. I just wanna ride some wheelies and off the police... bless MERICA!

Then check out a Husky 630 motard. Not as high strung as a 511 and has longer service intervals. A few cheap mods and it rips pretty good. You can find them much cheaper than a 690 and better (wide ratio) gearbox for if you ever do any longer rides.

I just sold mine to a guy in California. The 690 is a little hard to come by. I drove to Tennessee to get mine. Good luck.

I just got a used husky te610, it came with the sumo wheels and the oem 18 and 21 dirt wheels also. It is an 07 with 819 miles!! i am stoked. This is a great all around bike.I am guessing the 630 would be an even better street mount with the hyd.clutch. My dirtbike is a Husaberg fe450 and it has the magura hyd clutch and it has spoiled me. After i get the 610 legal i would like to meet up and do some rides. Just waiting on the title. If your going to be doing some reguiar commuting i would recomend the bigger bikes. I have had 2 street legal dirtbikes and they get old fast. A converted offroad or mx bike is just not the same. By the same token i would not take the husky to the national forest either. Its just too big and heavy. But as far as street bikes go its a light weight.

Your 610 wouldn't be that bad in the forest. I've ridden my 630 there many times and your bike is even lighter and more dirt worthy. Of course if your trailering than leave it at home and take the Husaberg. But great bike if you make it a dual sport ride. I ride 65 miles back highways to get up there, ride the trails for an hour or more at slower speeds, then explore around on the forestry roads and dirt county roads which are legal with a license plate, then jump over to 149 and ride the twisties down to Conroe area and then back highways again home. Nice day long loop with a little bit of everything.

Hello. I don't get on here as much as I used to. I was Houstons only Husky dealer from 1990 to 2006. I still do parts and race work. 43 years now. Simple truth is the sale of Husky to BMW and to many holes working for them prompted me to drop the line. They were trying to force me to order 100 Huskys'. Really? Good luck. So I made them come pic up the bikes. I still do KTM's. Im on Hwy 249 at jones if I can help you. 281-370-4400 Sportcycles Of Houston KTM. PS Husky has sold again to Pierre in Austria. He is Head honcho and KTM Motorad AG. Talk about a conflict...

What's up Wes? It was a long time ago I worked for you with Danger Granger. Hope all is well. Any chance you still have that PJS Viper motor for a stand up ski? Dan managed to skip town with my old boat. The loud, fast green boat. I still have a couple of old 550's, and could really use a bad PJS motor.
