Agreed. There doesn't need to be a fight. I just want to know what it's so hard for people to pick up the phone. Especially in a customer service driven business. Nothing irritates me more than that simple little fact. Especially when you've got someones property.

Well guys! The pen or the keyboard is mightier than the sword! Just recieved a call from Wild West and they figured out what my issue was. Turns out the dealer I purchased the bike from when changing the tires used the wrong bolts which affects the speedo and the sensor. I would like to thank Dan and Wild West for promptly calling me back and getting all this straigtened out. I might have gone about this the wrong way; but I was as patient as I could possibly be. I let frustration get the better of me and sometimes I can go off. Once again thanks to Wild West and I hope this thread doesn't negatively impact their reputation. This is just one impatient dumb-asse's opinion.

Your response seems fine to me. You have every right to be mad.

Yes because my one sentence somehow dooms this thread to being locked....how about the fact this is a negative thread about an sponsor that will lead to it being locked....don't call me a moron

Most grades of stainless steel have a much lower magnetic flux than regular grades of steel. The speedometer sensor uses the Hall effect to sense the magnetic field created when the rotor bolt passes by. Since your SS bolts have a lower magnetic flux they do not produce a strong enough magnetic field for the sensor to reliably read, creating the erratic readings you observed with the SS bolts.

Your post was a wrong turn for a thread about a sponsor. They would be more likely to lock a thread after a post that is less than civil. Your post for example.

Bolts that can determine mph vs kph, sounds like bs to me

Glad it got resolved

On most bikes you do some sequence of buttons on thedash and it goes between both

The speed sensor might be located at the hub, and most likely a Hall effect type of sensor, using bolts as the reluctor using different bolts can affect the signal.

And your reading comprehension sucks. He never said his speedometer was reading KPH instead of MPH. He said it was reading MPH wrong...as in incorrectly or inaccurately.
