It wasnt that hot asphalt that killed him because his skin is not really boiled. The h2s gas and other very bad fumes is what killed him, fairly quickly.

100C is just at boiling temp for water. He probably went out from suffocation as opposed to burns. of a long minute for anyone to endure.. RIP!!

I feel bad for anyone that had to witness that too. Would give me nightmares for a long time afterward.
