Going to get something more comfy for when riding two up. Coworker of mine has this he'll sell to me for $2500.00. Has almost 8x miles. 2004 Honda Shadow 750.
Anyone care to tell what they think. Also garage kept hardly road.

Wouldn't do it for 2-up. Not enough power. Buddy of mine had one for awhile and upgraded to a VTX1300 because the 750 was straining too hard with both him and his wife on it...and no, they aren't fatasses. Top speed with solo rider and windshield is 90-95 indicated and takes awhile to get there.

They're nimble and easy to ride, though. A little too bunched up for me to ride comfortably over long distances without adding forward controls, but for someone in the 5'4"-5'7" range the stock control locations are just about perfect.

if like cruising at 55 mph, will probably be ok, but if you want to cruise the speed limit...with two up and be comfortable, not the one.

A lap around 610 would be plenty

my bad, i thought the man said he was looking for a comfortable cruise.
I have had the 650 and the 750 both, and they are fine for short rides, but not long cruises... gonna ride for more than a couple hours and they are not going to be comfortable.
I am not a big guy, I am right at 6' and weigh 225 lbs, my wife is short and does not weigh 225 lbs...and it would not be comfortable for us at all...even if we are just going to go to the hill country and tool around, we take the road king..

Completely different bikes. Can't compare a 650 dual sport to a 750 cruiser. Maxed out on the 750 at 5500 RPM still leaves some in reserve for the "Wee," which should be somewhere around 5400 RPM for freeway speeds.

750 Shadow:
45hp @ 5500 RPM
47 ft. lbs. @ 3000 RPM

V-Strom 650:
67hp @ 9000 RPM
47 ft. lbs. @ 7600 RPM

You're comparing two entirely different bikes dude. The Shadow 750 is a decent bike but not suited for 2-up riding

C'mon, old timer. Don't you know CC's are CC's and that the style of the bike, rev limit and gearing have absolutely no bearing on power output?

2-up depends on how "big" you 2 are. If you are both petite asians, that 750cc twin will be plenty.

look for an older shadow 1100 or vtx1300 for 2up if you want to go cheap.
