Rain and Trackdays

you guys really shouldn't let the rain discourage you from riding on the track, it isn't as bad as you would think. most people don't like riding in the rain but truelly, it'll make you a smoother rider. Don't back out of a trackday b/c of rain chances for the day, even if you show up the trackday organisers will determine the safety factor, if it rains too much and is unsafe, the organisers will call a rain delay and give a credit in most cases, but like i said, dont let it discourage you.

Smooth = fast

Yea, this season i'm thinking of buying rain tires and mounted on a separate set of wheels and taking them with me every track day as a just in case - coz i love riding in the rain.

Its like you have the whole track to yourself - nobody wants to be on the track hehe...

Eric, get em, we'll both play tag in the rain..

If you run off the track, don't worry about getting hurt falling. It's like riding into a marsh. In fact, it is riding into a marsh. I know personally form my last track day. Cleaning our south Texas gumbo from the bike was a pain though.

Buck, get the power washer working, please.

See you on Saturday.

Not going to lie...I like riding in the rain ( sometimes ) but maybe I'm too cautious especially on the curves...I heard that in the rain the faster you go the more traction you get out of your tires, anybody know if that's true or not?

DOT, Rain tire whatever. They all have a limit. Wet or Dry. If it is raining, then rain tires will have the most grip available. Intermitant rain conditon where there are dry spots on the track, the DOT's do better. In that condition, the rains just burn up quick.
