New member NW Houston (DS)

Hi everyone, my name is Ryan I just turned 33 and have just purchased my first street legal bike. For the last 15 years I have owned, modified and raced cars. Everything from my first car a Turbo RX7 to Mustangs onto LS1 Z28's and then finally my last car a 2002 BMW 330.

I don't have much of a motorcycle history unfortunately so I am hoping to learn a few things from you guys that will help me become a better rider. My last bike was an xr 80 that I begged my parents for for when I was 12. So naturally I purchased a dual sport as I do like the ability to go off road. Its a 93 XR650L (completely red) with a fresh rebuild which includes a 10.5.1 JE Racing piston and some other goodies, a UNI air filter , carb, smog blockoff kit etc... It has plenty of power for being my first bike. I plan on doing some more to it and maybe eventually purchasing a full street bike.

I will be attending a riders safety coarse this month at Awesome Cycles which is where I found this forum. I am really looking forward to it. Let me know if anyone else will be out there on the 24-26. If not see you on the forums.

Thanks!

No I couldn't afford one of those back then. It was an FC3S N/A A few years later I ended up with a FC3S Turbo II which was unfortunately stolen.

Nice cars, you're doing it right on the bike end, too!

(I'm a Ford guy, but respect any fast car. I have a N/A FC for 24 Hours of Lemons racing, it has a 5.0 in it now though LOL)

I almost converted mine to a v-8 as well. Great power to weight and the factory rear end was bullet proof. I once test drove one with an enormous
463ci in it with a turbo 350 transmission. It was fun till the tranny gave out
after 10 mins. Needless to say I didn't buy it...
