blew the motor @ msrh

well, i must have over revved it. valves hit the piston piston smacked the head and seized in the jug.. if im lucky the crank is salvagable.. only has 800 miles on it... anyone have a crf450 head laying around?

i was running 15-40 i never topped out in 5th gear. im thinking i downshifted and dropped the clutch coming out of the front straight to sugar and spice i remember hearing it rev allot higher and it wasn't long after that (last session) it bit the dust at diamonds edge

Thats how my KTM went at GSS. But in that case, an issue with valve guides and valve materials of construction created the issue and is a known issues with the KTM.

Greg you have a 6 speed and he got's a 5, I doubt gear ratios are the same, so your 40 don't match his.

I'd post of damage of my valve failure, but I deleted photos when bike went out east.

As for a head, might try Squanto. Celine torn up enough bottom ends he might actually have a spare top end.

I blew my motor going 80 on hwy 59 chunks of my motor blew off and hit a Ducati headlight behind me.

oh yah Update.. rebuilt the bottom end and picked up a used head.. its now a 510cc big bore stroker and its a beast.. in stock dirt trim it power wheelies every gear.... rode it allot on the trails this winter, its pretty useless.. way too much power..

just put my tard stuff back on and im at work at the firestation and cant wait to ride it!!!
