When i got this i was at the mid point of a.long.drive with kids. i really didnt inspect it any more thorougly than *it has 2 wheels, engine, gas tank... with bolt, and some big ole bars. i didnt think i was walking into another major project. im getting rid of this cold mess.
i found an 81 cm200 twinstar that needs a rear tire. dudes going to take my bike over. hopefully i can meet him in the next 3 days and get it. woo. 60 mph tops here i come!

my plan is to just get it on the road, stickered and insured, and maybe replace it in spring.
maybe keep it, too... 70 or so mpg will be nice, and i like the 1 kick start

ive been playing with the new toy all night, and im about to get to bed.
the front fender is off. its bent up a bit. i have the rear wheel off, and the rear stand i have, works great with the dual exhaust pipes. it took a while, but i figured out how to remove the seat. it's in really good shape. i cant decide yet if i want to sell the seat, and get something brat style, or keep it. this little bike would make a great brat bike. the big ol' curvy handlebars are off. i'll get some lower bars sometime.
i have removed the bent front turn signals and the rear fender/tail light assy. im going to replace that stuff with LED's
the battery is on the tender.
the bike starts very easily, even with no battery. 1 kick, yes.

it just hit me that this is my 5th bike. sheeeesh. look at me, i'm mister fancy pants. i've had 5 bikes!
how did this happen? lol.
anyways, i'll make a thread for this guy once i get some more work done.
here's a pic of daddy's helpers and the new toy.

awesome. i cleaned the air filter and kicked the bike off. its been running, untouched for like 10 or 15 minutes.
shopping list has expanded to include a few bolts and nuts, carb cleaner, and chain lube.

tire shopping just now. i found a couple of under $50 kendas.
now the waiting game begins. i cant get my tires, bars, or any other junk until the 15th of next month. sweet glorious extra job payday. the extra job is my bike budget. about $480-600/ mo for working on my sundays off.

i think it would look dope with a peanut tank on it, or maybe an even smaller 2.1 gallon (forty-eight style) tank

if you are talking about the shadow, i had considered a peanut tank, but the bike is in another dude's garage, and is his problem bike now. hopefully he has better luck.
with my cm200, i am waiting until i make some real progress to post up about it. i'll likely start a thread in the vintage/cafe section. might bump this thread with a link when there is one.
