Okay, here's update.
Sounds like this rain is delaying everything.
So, it's all depends on the weather.

But it's gonna happen ASAP.

In regards to Grandsport Speedway:

I have been coordinating with the track manager of this facility and all they are waiting on is for the weather to clear up so that they can lay the track down the proper way. Which really will take some nice warm weather and some time for all of this water to drain out of the sewer system there.. They are in the process of finding out what the prefered type of FIM approved curbing will be applied to the tracks and where to and where not to set up barriers that will make the track safe for both motorcycles and cars.. They are talking with Miller Motorsports park to get some advice on how MMP has set up their tire walls... So all in all it sounds like that this track is going to be done to the best of ones ability and should provide a wonderful place to ride/drive in the near future. Be patient and it should be worth it. I will also try to provide information as I hear it. Thanks and Have a nice day.

Will this be done by the March 3 Ride Smart trackday? Sounds like its still in the planning stages? So they are talking to other tracks and building at the same time?

My sentiments exactly.. I was curious how they could already schedule a date that was so close and yet so little was done already.. I asked about this too for the fear that bringing vehicles on so quickly could be very detrimental to the fresly laid black top... Once again, I think they intended from what I understand to have already laid the track surface for the first track but have been delayed by weather.. So we will have to see what becomes.. And as far as talking to other tracks it seems they are merely taking some tips from other facilities that work well in regards to barriers and curbing...

When I spoke to David he ensured me that they could have all layers of the track laid in a few weeks. Only problem was the time to cure (weather permitting)

I'm not taking it anything offended (and I mean it).
Since you said what you have to say, I'm gonna respond to that.
I didn't know anything about what was going on with the wall.
So, when I heard about this from Dave, it was a nice surprise and it made me feel good about helping an organization it's willing to participate benefit for all.
I happened to help Ridesmart, but I don't against any other trackday organizations (actually, I support them all).
Nor I think who's better than who.
As you said, credit should go to where it's due.
But with my limited knowledge, I didn't know any other group who are involved (and still don't know other than TWS (Texas World Speedway) itself).
Guess it could seemed to be "shameless self-promotion for Ride Smart".
I just want to let you know it has nothing to do what Ride Smart/Dave ask me to do.
What I said was my appreciation to Ride Smart/Dave for doing something like that.
And I'll do the same to other group/individual whoever is involved for this great project.
That's all.

NutMeg,

Perception is reality, only to the ignorant.
By no way do I mean to offend anyone but the perception of your post indicates that this reconstruction issue and it's resolve had to do solely with the involvement of Ride Smart and Dave. I know Dave well enough to know that he wanted this issue resolved as much as anyone but I don't think marketing his involvement is justified.
Involvement for the good of others often goes on deaf ears.
The only thing that needs to be touted is the correction to a dangerous issue by many other people than mentioned in the original post.
