Yamaha is and has always been my 2nd brand of choice behind honda. After a ton of reading and researching on this bike and the crf450x, it came down to which bike I came accross in my price range first. This was a deal i couldn't say no to but this really is a "bulletproof" bike perfect for a tard setup.

My motard is a 2000cc t smoke with nitrous, turbo, and a supercharger. It spins the tire on the rim and can fly. That bike looks like grandma's bike.
Head lights and a tail light, lame.

I call my bike faster than light. I lean that so hard and back it in starting from the last corner.

It looked like is was almost new other than a few scratches on the plastics and it had a title. I got it plated last week. The 2008 model is already wired for a hi/lo beam and the rear tail light is wired for a brake light. I cut two wires and added a SICASS key switch and a hydraulic brake switch and it was ready to hit the road. Easiest conversion ever and super cheap. I found a complete oem wheel set on ebay that looked brand new for 350 bucks. I'm keeping those for the dirt and putting 60/40 tires on the other set for more street riding. I'm going to go up a tooth in the front sprocket as well and it screams on the highway in the current set up. It's a wheelie machine and the parts are way cheaper than the KTM I had. You will enjoy it.
Nice. I've been doing alot of pricing for the little parts like switches, etc and it all seems like it will be fairly inexpensive.

What did you do for a horn?

I found a small cheap one on eBay. My hi/lo switch also had a horn button. You have to run dc power to the horn. I mounted it on the left side of the front fairing using an existing bolt.

The switch I found has the high/low beam swtich along with a horn button as well. It looks like alot of people mount it up to one of the fork tube pinch bolts on the upper triple clamp.

The only other thing i'm trying to figure out is a decent looking license plate bracket. What did you go with?

You might hit up TankMonkey for parts. I think he just blew his WR up and is selling it.

Chad got me in touch with him. I asked him to keep me in mind if he decided to part his out. If i had the money, i'd buy the bike from him but like i told him, my wife might try to castrate me bringing home another bike right after i bought this one.

I fabricated one from one of those 3 dollar aluminum license plate holders you can buy at Cycle Gear. I also bought the LED license plate light there for cheap. I have a 2008 and they moved the tail light to below the fender and yours is above I think. Pictures not loading on work computer so working off of memory. Not sure what I did would work for you. I flipped the aluminum piece upside down and bent it into an "L" shape. I drilled 2 holes and it and the fender and bolted in on. The license plate mounts on the very bottom and there is enough room to put your inspection sticker and LED light on top. It looks pretty good and costs less than $15.

I used an LED bar with integrated signals. You can buy them in varying lengths. They are the metal ones not the flexible strips. I bought a bracket that someone else made but you could probably make one. I then used two LED bolts to light up the plate. If you made the bracket it would only cost about $30. Mine was $60.

You can see the set up here http://www.supermotojunkie.com/showt...t-set-up/page3

Here is a better shot of the bracket http://www.supermotojunkie.com/showt...nstalled-SM610

lol, wait until you get to tell her that the bike you bought last year and have only ridden a handful of times since just blew up. again.

I'm still going to try to move it as a package for now, but if I decide to part it out, you'll be one of the first to know...

Nice. Yeah i'll probably end up doing something similar. And you are correct, the tailight on miine is above the rear fender.
