Amen....I pray every time I get on my machine, and for every rider I see out there. I think August is one of the worst months due to heat and road rage. What me off the most are the people on their cell phones driving one handed making turns, and they drift lane to lane...happened to me Sunday, and it helps to expect the chaos. I added small convex mirrors to the new Guzzi: they are very helpful, and cheap little safety items I highly recommend to all riders.

Yesterday afternoon, if I would of been riding like an idiot, head-on-collision ! Slowly coming up on a left turn, here comes a truck barreling thru, coming at me, on the outside corner ! Luckily I was going slow, the driver corrected.

Thinking Death, might try once more, that day. I stayed cautious the rest off the day.

Then last night at 11:57, coming up on a right turn. A Tour bus (coming from the other way), just made it around the corner. The car behind him didn't even make it to the corner and was already in my lane ! He literally stayed in the lane until he made it around the Tour bus. I had about 2 second to think and got on the shoulder.

I've got 'em on my ZX6. They don't look sexy, but they're practical.

The convex mirrors have saved me several times: usually from very fast cars coming up from behind and around multiple turn lanes. They extend peripheral vision, which I think is crucial to survival while riding.

Think John Elway versus the Steelers....
