Still recovering, although it's slowed down a lot. I started therapy again recently, and still deal with a lot of pain. Fortunately I was into body building before this so that may have saved my life. My wife is a awesome gal.

Oh he looked, he saw me, he hit his brakes then gassed it again. Gave me no where to escape to.

First of all, wish you recover full and fast.

Second, I believe you that it was the driver's faul that got out in front of you

But third and most important, this whole post makes me wonder and since there are hundreds of people reading this forum, specially young kids and neewbies, I wanted to ask you.

In your first post in Aug 2012 you posted you had little over 6 months riding experience and then you had this unfortunate accident riding a beasty 1400 cc motorcycle that has more power than what I can handle having over 15 years of riding on my back. So it makes me wonder and please dont take me wrong, but does the fact that you had only 8 months of riding experience and were rifing a ZX14 have anything to do with this accident? Just maybe on an X% anyways?

At least if it did, it would be an example to others of why starting with a 250cc is not such a bad idea.

Again, I do not mean any harm with my question and again wish you a full a quick recovery

No offense taken whatsoever. I started on a 1000 cc bike, I rode practically every day in thick traffic. I purchased the zx14 because I'm a big guy....at the time 6"2' and 225 lbs. I bought it for comfort not so much speed. Honestly it was much easier to ride, and had better brakes than my zx10r, and ran about the same. Personally I think it's a waste of money to start on a small bike, unless you plan on riding it forever.

Also I think the power of the bike gets you out of more trouble than it gets you in. The ability to leave traffic is very much important when riding IMO.

One thing you want to be weary of are infections. Infections can very well lead to amputations.

Thanks for your concern but this happened 11/2012. I'm way past that point.
